On Friday we visited @lincolncollegeuk at their Main Site on Monks Road. We were given a tour of the facilities and got to see some of their hosted Auto Inform event. We visit many learning institutions to talk to students about STEM, 21st Century
On Friday we visited @lincolncollegeuk at their Main Site on Monks Road. We were given a tour of the facilities and got to see some of their hosted Auto Inform event. We visit many learning institutions to talk to students about STEM, 21st Century Learning Skills, Motorsport and many other things. We found out a lot about their automotive and air and defence courses and how project based learning and cross college integration can link in to provide experiences to ready students for their next steps in life. Lincoln has a really positive feel, from reception to the Heads of Learning, to the governors, you feel there is a purpose and desire to want to support people getting on. There is a genuine passion that opportunity and development matters and should be enhanced in every way. We left really enthused and motivated. Courses are available for further and higher education, additionally, the college supports the community, welcoming in local schools and making facilities available outside of standard hours to support training and learning for those not enrolled with the college. Some weekends don't go your way and for much of this weekend we had some setbacks. To come through as we did showed some real resilience and teamwork with some individual brilliance thrown in. THE SEASON HAS STARTED. Our season started in unfamiliar fashion with 3 Novas racing in @historicsportscarclub new 80s Production Championship at @snettertonofficial . The team really enjoyed the weekend and will return to support this growing champ
THE SEASON HAS STARTED. Our season started in unfamiliar fashion with 3 Novas racing in @historicsportscarclub new 80s Production Championship at @snettertonofficial . The team really enjoyed the weekend and will return to support this growing championship. @jason_pdc_racing took pole, fastest lap and the win at the 2020 trial race at @cadwellpark_msv and was back to try to repeat the feat and start the season on a high. @gavin009 made his debut in a team Nova and Pete Osgerby swopped @750motorclub CSH for some Historic Action. Wood was the fastest of the PDC cars in qualifying 2nd place near matching his best lap from previous Snetterton experiences, Pete Osgerby flew out of the traps leaving Gavin Johnson behind and wound up 4th, Johnson eventually taking 3rd on the grid after getting used to the car throughout the session. The race followed a similar pattern. Wood was ballistic from the lights and took the lead for half of the race from known 750 competitor Chris Dear. Dear eventually coming through to win by a large margin. Johnson couldn't live with Wood but took 3rd place overall with Osgerby 5th after a race long battle with Tom Owens turbocharged Audi 100 that would have made him our driver of the day (more so after Johnson closed the door at turn 1😳)! The double podium was a nice way to round out the weekend 👍🏆🏆 Special mention to Chris Dear though...over 2 seconds faster than he's ever gone around Snetterton and lap times well under the 750MC record. He will be a threat in CSH this year :) We are back out next week at @silverstone with 750 Motor Club 👍🚗🚗🚗🏁🏆 Thanks to HSCC and FlyingTigers Photography Peter French for the images with some additions from the team and more to come.
